1 Day Adventures

Reservations, Payment, & Cancellations for Pre-pay:

A 50% deposit is required to confirm a reservation. All tours must be prepaid in full before depature.
We offer a 10% discount to all daily tours prepaid at least 45 days in advance (except whale watching). We will make every effort to accommodate your requested tour dates. Please understand certain tours require a minimum number of guests.
For internet bookings, a full refund will be given when cancellations are made at least 14 days prior to tour departure. For tours cancelled by the client between 14 days and 48 hours prior to tour departure, the entire payment will be credited to future Iguana Mama tours. For tours cancelled by the client between 14 and 48 hours prior to tour departure, Iguana Mama will retain 25% of the payment (deposit). The remainder will be applied as a credit to another
Iguana Mama tour. For tours cancelled by the client less than 14 hours before the tour, Iguana Mama will retain all payments.
All payments are refunded for tours cancelled by Iguana Mama.
Prepayments must be received at least 10 days prior to tour departure. All payments must be in the form of U.S. dollars or Euros. If payment is not received when due, Iguana Mama reserves the right to treat the reservation as cancelled.

Trip Modification

We design our trips with a degree of flexibility, to provide you with the best possible opportunity for exploring the Dominican Republic.
Therefore our itineraries may change due to weather, availability of new accommodations or routes, problems with old routes, etc. Iguana Mama reserves the right to change the itinerary due to any factor.

What's included

For all our 1-day Mountain Biking we include Specialized Mountain bikes with front suspension, purified drinking water, helmets and expert guides.
Some tours also include: Fruit, Breakfast or Lunch and transportation.

What's not included

Airfare, airport transfers, soft drinks, liquor, medical expenses, cost of hospitalization or evacuation from remote areas, personal medical insurance, gratuities for guides.
Services available: Although Iguana Mama is not a travel agent, we are happy to help book hotels and other tours, and can assist with airline information. For an additional fee airport transfers are available.

Medical & Client Responsibilities

Good physical and mental health are essential for the enjoyment of our trips
It is essential that any participant with a medical condition requiring regular treatment or which may be affected by vigorous activity, high altitude, heat, cold, other natural phenomena, or foods, notify Iguana Mama, in writing, in advance of the trip.
All participants must carry their own medical insurance, valid for the duration of the trip.
Clients must present themselves for tours in a condition that guides feel will enable them to participate without endagering themselves or others, this especially relates to cascading, canyoning and biking trips. Please drink responsibly the night before trips as any sign of intoxication may lead to the cancellation of tours or exclusion of individulas without recourse to refunds.

Group Discounts

Group discounts are available for groups of 8 or more (on Iguana Mama's own tours only, not third party outfitter tours) when payment is made for the group by one individual, separate online payments by individuals part of a group do not qualify. Ask us for more information.

Multi-day adventures and Group Tours

Reservations and Payment

Early reservations are encouraged. Some trips fill several months before departure.
All reservations require a 50% deposit.
Full payment is required 45 days before departure. Personal checks must be received 60 days in advance of departure.
All payments must be in the form of U.S. dollars. If payment is not received when due, Iguana Mama reserves the right to treat the reservation as canceled.

Cancellation by Client

If written notification of cancellation is received more than 45 days prior to departure of the trip, any payments minus 25% will be refunded. Written cancelations between 45 and 30 days prior to departure any payments minus 25% will be credited to future tours. No refunds or credit for cancellation given within 30 days of trip departure. Iguana Mama trips are sold as packages, and there will be no refunds to individuals who leave a trip early or arrive late.

Exceptions to the above cancellation policies cannot be made for any reason, including weather and personal emergencies. IGUANA MAMA STRONGLY RECOMMENDS THAT YOU PURCHASE A TRAVEL INSURANCE POLICY THAT INCLUDES TRIP CANCELLATION AND INTERRUPTION INSURANCE.

Cancellation by Iguana Mama

Iguana Mama reserves the right to cancel any trip due to acts of nature and/or any other occurrence out of our control. Iguana Mama rates are based on a minimum group size of eight people, should a trip be under subscribed, we do everything we can to make a trip go, even with as few as four participants. (In such cases, it may be necessary to increase rates).
Final decision to cancel a trip due to insufficient sign ups is made 30 days prior to departure.
Should Iguana Mama cancel a trip, you will receive a full refund of all monies paid to us.
Iguana Mama is not responsible for additional expenses such as airline or hotel cancellations fees.

Pre-Departure Package

On receipt of your deposit, we will send you a receipt and confirmation and a pre-departure information packet. This will include an itinerary, a clothing and equipment checklist, current medical requirements, passport and tourist card requirements.

What's included

Iguana Mama trips include specified meals, accommodation and meal taxes and gratuities, snacks and purified drinking water, professional guides, park entry fees and permits, maps and vehicle or mule support (to carry purified drinking water, food, spare parts, tools, first aid and at times weary cyclists and hikers).
Hotel accommodations, when included, assume single occupancy is available for an additional fee.

What's not included

Unless otherwise specified, Airfare, airport transfers, soft drinks, liquor, bikes, sleeping bags and pads, laundry, medical expenses, cost of hospitalization or evacuation from remote areas, entry or departure taxes, insurance, gratuities for guides.
Activities listed as optional (eg: horseback riding) generally require an additional fee. If the trip must be extended or itinerary modified due to causes beyond Iguana Mama’s control, all associated costs are not included. (In some cases, travel insurance may cover these costs)
