Kitesurfing is a fun and challenging activity for people of all ages and Cabarete is a kitesurfing paradise.  It’s a great sport to try on your vacation! The wind in Cabarete normally picks up in the afternoon, so we can easily fit in a few afternoons of kiting around your morning mountain and river adventures.

Kitesurfing is no longer a "hardcore-only" sport. Improvements in equipment technology and teaching techniques have made kitesurfing safer, more accessible and it's still a HUGE amount of fun!  Kiting is family-friendly and kids as young as 8 years old can take lessons.

FAQ about Kitesurfing Adventures

Kitesurfing is all about learning to control and fly the kite 

Lessons are usually 2 hours long, normally in the afternoon

First 2 hours are normally on the beach, learning to control the kite

Next lesson is usually in the sea, body surfing with the kite pulling you

Handling the board AND the kite is the next step

Finally getting the board on your feet and standing up for the first time

Average time to get the board on your feet and stand up is about 8 hours

All kitesurfing adventures are wind-dependent

Here at Iguana Mama we recommend booking a two-lesson (four hours) package then adding additional hours to your training as needed
