Travel with Iguana Mama to the beautiful Samana peninsula where during the period Jan 15 to March 25 between 3,000 5,000 Humpback whales journey from as far away as Greenland to mate and calve.
Listen to the male humpback's solitary courting song by underwater hydraphone, witness incredible displays of flippering, tail lobbing and breaching by the most active species of whale in the Atlantic. On board with internationally renowned Marine Mammal Specialist Kim Beddall narrating and answering questions the trip includes approximately 3 hours on board the 55 foot “Pura Mia” in the waters of Samana Bay.
“Our Humpbacks are all born here, that makes them Dominican citizens, they migrate north to feed but always return to their beautiful homeland in the Caribbean.” Kim Beddall.
