Do you want the ultimate canyoneering experience in the Caribbean? Then this is it, all roads lead to Canyoning Supremacy. Affectionately known as the "Super Big Bastard" this trip is advanced, challeging and definitely falls into the "extreme sport" category. A full day adventure that is in effect a combination of 3 tours (Magic Mushroom, Big Bastard & Ciguapa Falls) takes you deep into the river valley, to places few have seen and even fewer have canyoneered. Rappels of up to 160 feet (55m) and exhilarating jumps of up to  60 feet (20m) challenge brain and sinew as the tour winds its way down several miles of untouched river canyon. Incredible scenery and the adrenaline rush of this unspoilt big kids' playground are guaranteed to make this the highlight of your vacation.

We start the day meeting our guide at Iguana Mama 7.45am before picking up breakfast to eat while we wend our way up the 45 minutes to base camp. Enjoy the spectacular views as you begin to wonder what you have let yourself in for. Base camp is where we meet the other guides and get you geared up in wetsuit, harness, helmet and life preserver. A quick safety briefing is followed by 10 more minutes van time before arriving at the canyon entrance. The trip starts with a couple of easy jumps before we come upon the Magic Mushroom which makes up the first part of the tour and eases us into the groove. Two intense rappels followed by some great jumps lead us into the "Big Bastard" section of the canyon. Wave goodbye to those that have completed the Magic Mushroom tour, as they hike away out of sight, your day is just beginning. Things get serious now, the jumps get bigger, traverses scarier and rappels steeper. If water conditions allow you'll get to jump the Big Bastard himself, measured at 60 feet or 20m. A couple more hours of insane river time taking in the varied jumps of Ciguapa Falls leave your body and mind on a diffrent plane as we finally leave the river behind. A steep 20 minute hike out of the canyon followed by a 20 minute donkey ride will fade into a distant memory as you devour a very delicious, well-deserved Dominican meal. Those who vie for canyoning supremacy have finally met their match.  You will return triumphantly to Cabarete a hero and a conquerer!

Included: Breakfast, drinks/snacks during the tour, Dominican meal after the trip and all gear. Donkeys for the hike out also included. You need to bring tennis or river shoes, something to wear under wetsuit, a towel and dry clothes.
